A great white shark has reportedly chased surfers out of the water at Esperance.

A member of the public told Surf Life Saving WA a four-metre shark was sighted about 30 metres offshore this morning.

The incident reportedly happened east of the surf club at Twilight Beach.

“East of surf club. Aggressive. Chased surfers out of water,” was how Surf Life Saving WA relayed the report.

A spokesperson for Surf Life Saving WA was unavailable for comment.

The report comes days less than a week after two shark attacks near Gracetown and the cancellation of the Margaret River Pro because of concerns about possible shark attacks.
