A 72-year-old Georgia woman drowned on Daytona Beach on Wednesday, according to Volusia County Beach Safety officials.
Emergency personnel arrive at about 5:20 p.m. and found Diane Bell of College Park, Georgia, on the shore after being pulled out of the water by a lifeguard and two beach-goers, an incident report said. Bell was floating motionless in the surf, the report said.
Chest compressions and CPR were performed, and AED pads were used to shock Bell’s chest with no result, the report said.
Bell was transported to Daytona Beach Halifax Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
